Maple Street Design Studio Part II

Another project I photographed for Maple Street Design Studio was in midcoast Maine last fall. A rather extensive renovation was undertaken by architect Joe Russillo and brought to fruition by Phi Home Designs. Gorgeous tile and stone work throughout, the large open space was embraced and left to shine on its own. With a very minimalist contemporary feel, this project is nothing less than stunning!

At Home in Cushing

Joe Russillo, architect and owner of Maple Street Design Studio in Camden, Maine and I first crossed paths years ago when I took a blueprint reading course he offered locally. I was thrilled when he asked me to photograph and document one of his projects for his portfolio of design work. Subsequently the home was featured in Maine Home + Design magazine’s  Architecture Issue in 2014.

Built (and built well by Vision Builders) at the crest of a long sloping hillside on the coast in Cushing, the house is right at home in its tranquil setting. Beautiful cabinetry, equally impressive stonework, and attention to detail throughout, the home is immediately welcoming with its flow from floor to floor – from the basement up to the rooftop tower with its commanding views.

I was delighted to return this winter to capture the house at twilight, and quickly realized that this home is photogenic in any season.
